FROM THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
This has been a very busy and rewarding fall season for us
at the ADDL. Dr. Thacker was presented with the 1996 Pope
Memorial Award at the American Association of Laboratory Diagnosticians
meeting in Little Rock, Arkansas in October. This is a very
prestigious award which is given once a year in recognition
of a career dedicated to veterinary diagnostics. Also at this
meeting. Dr. Lydia Andrews-Jones received the graduate student
award for the best presentation. Dr. Bill Van Alstine, Chief
of ADDL Pathology Section, is the incoming president of this
association and has made significant contributions to this
organization over the past years. The recognition of achievement
of these individuals is well deserved, and a reflection of
what an excellent faculty and staff we have at the ADDL.
I hope you enjoy this newsletter, it is filled
with articles about diseases of farm animals as well as companion
animals.
As mentioned in a prior newsletter, there is
information regarding the newly-offered mycoplasmalserology
testing at ADDL.
We welcome your comments about this newsletter as well as
the services of the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory.
We look forward to hearing from you. We wish you and yours
the happiest and safest of holiday seasons.
