Dr. Dan Harrington retired from Purdue University in May, 2005.  Dr. Harrington began his career at Purdue in 1973 as a member of the faculty in the Veterinary Pathobiology department and the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory.  A graduate of Michigan State University Veterinary Science, Dr. Harrington earned his PhD in Nutritional Biochemistry, Pathology and Metabolism from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

        A sailing enthusiast, he and wife Pat will spend much of his retirement aboard his sailboat, the WealSea.

Dr. Zheko Kounev, ADDL Avian Diagnostician and Food Safety Specialist, left ADDL to take a position with a poultry production/nutrition company which will allow him to spend part of his time in his native Bulgaria.

ADDL welcomed Dr. Roman Pogranichniy to its faculty as diagnostic virologist in June, 2005.  He received his DVM from Ukrainian State Agricultural University, Kiev, Ukraine and his MS and PhD degrees from Iowa State University focusing his research on Porcine circovirus and Porcine reproductive and neurological syndrome.  Dr. Pogranichniy will oversee the serology and virology laboratories.
