The following is a brief chronology of the Animal Disease and Diagnostic lab. 1912 - Originally, the ADDL served as a testing laboratory for vaccines and antisera in the prevention and control of Hog Cholera. Early 1930s - testing for Brucellosis (Bangs Disease) was added. 1945 - Section I, Chapter 68 of the Acts of the Indiana Legislature established the official ADDL at Purdue University. 1969 - The ADDL-SIPAC was established to serve the poultry industry in southern Indiana. 1977 - An addition to the SIPAC facility provided mammalian diagnostic services. 1978 - A second addition to the main laboratory was completed. 1989 - Construction of the new ADDL facilities began on July 20. 1991 - The new ADDL facilities were operational and dedicated on June 11. |
